"Few aspects of local mobility policy evoke as much discussion and controversy as parking. Most attention is paid to car accessibility. This is indeed necessary, but does not mean that everyone should be able to park right outside their door, and preferably for free. Parking policy is an important component that can provide a balance between the various modes of transport, accessibility and liveability of cities and municipalities. With an integrated parking policy, we have the tools to steer mobility at the local level."
